This Privacy Policy explains what information jadeabacus.com collects, why, and how you can control it. The data controller is Jade Abacus Software Limited (company name subject to final approval by the Hong Kong Companies Registry), registered office Room 18, 2/F, Tuspark, 118 Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong ("we", "us", "our").

1. Information we collect

  • Order information — name, email address, and billing address, collected at checkout.
  • Payment information — processed directly by our payment processing partners; we do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
  • Contact form submissions — name, email, and the message you send us via the Contact page.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser and device information, collected automatically via standard server logs.
  • Usage data — basic analytics (pages visited, referring site) and functional cookies needed to operate the cart and checkout.

2. Why we're allowed to process it

We rely on the following legal bases, depending on the activity:

  • Contract performance — processing your order, delivering a Digital Product, or carrying out a Service you purchased.
  • Legal obligation — keeping records needed for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Legitimate interest — fraud prevention, and understanding how the Site is used so we can improve it.

4. Payment processing & cross-border transfer

Payments are handled by third-party payment processing partners, which may be based in Hong Kong or other jurisdictions outside your own country. 6. Data retention

Order and invoice records are retained for 7 years, in line with standard Hong Kong tax and accounting record-keeping expectations. Contact form submissions are retained only for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, unless a longer period is required by law.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make a request, email hello@jadeabacus.com.

8. International transfers

We are registered in Hong Kong and serve customers internationally. Your information may be processed in a country other than the one you live in, including by our payment processing partners, with appropriate safeguards in place.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. How to raise a concern

Email us first at hello@jadeabacus.com — most concerns can be resolved directly. If you're not satisfied with our response and you're located in Hong Kong, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD). If you're located elsewhere, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with your own local data protection authority.
